OEC Claims National Awards

The Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) in June awarded OEC’s marketing and member relations team with two trophies during its annual, nationwide contest — Best Employee Publication and Best of Show in the publications category for the employee magazine, Watts Watt.

Delicious Summer Savings

As an electric cooperative, OEC is a community-focused organization that works to efficiently deliver affordable, reliable, and safe energy to our member-consumers. It may seem odd that a utility would go to great lengths to educate our member-consumers on ways to save energy and therefore spend less on their monthly bill. But we are led by an exceptional Board of Directors composed of consumers like you who belong to the communities we serve. Under their leadership we work tirelessly to find new ways to best serve you.

Insert this week's #WattsUpWednesday cooking edition. One of the easiest ways to save money is to divert large appliance use to off-peak hours (peak hours are Monday through Friday from 3-7 PM, excluding holidays and weekends, between June 1 and August 31). The below menu uses several different low or no electricity to create a meal fit for royalty (or at the very least, our Marketing and Member Relations team).

Local 8th Graders Win Trip to Energy Camp

Norman, OK—Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (OEC) sent four exceptional students to Energy Camp with 90 other eighth-graders, from across the state. The 2018 Energy Camp was held May 29-June 1 and included fantastic experiences like climbing a utility pole, getting a bird’s eye view of camp from the top of a bucket truck, a trip to Celebration Station in Oklahoma City, and plenty of swimming and sand volleyball.
