McMahon receives United Way of Norman Inspire Award

OEC's Autumn McMahon, manager of marketing and member relations, received the United Way of Norman Inspire Award Aug. 20 in recognition of her dedication to and leadership of the Teen Advisors of Norman (TAN) program. 

TAN includes high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who want to identify problems and issues that kids, teens and families face, and address a way to solve them. This involves fundraising, volunteer work, monthly meetings and a commitment to the cause. 

OEC Foundation continues support of Meals on Wheels

The OEC Foundation, created in 1993, has a long history of supporting local organizations and families in OEC's service area through the Operation Round Up® program. Its support of Meals on Wheels of Norman dates back almost to the beginning of the Foundation — 1996 — and the board ensured that support would continue when it granted the organization $9,000 to serve nutritious meals to the ill, disabled and elderly across Cleveland County.

​​​​​​​OEC Big Check Shines Light on LED Rebate Program

NORMAN, Oklahoma (August 24, 2018) —  Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (OEC) cut a big check to Little Axe Public Schools – $27,936 – as a rebate for the schools’ recent transition to LED lighting.

 

Little Axe swtiched every lightbulb on their property with an LED version, replacing over 4,500 lamps.

 

“It was a pretty big initial investment,” said Little Axe Superintendent Jay Thomas, “but, we are already seeing the benefits.”

“I am very grateful our board of trustees understands the need for electricity education and gives us the resources we need to go into our area schools and make a difference for our students, teachers and struggling school systems,” said OEC Education and Outreach Coordinator Tedder-Loffland.
