An electric meter is an extremely accurate recording instrument that measures kilowatt-hour usage. Meters are tested before being installed and then tested on a rotating basis to insure accuracy. It is rare that a meter is found to run fast and record an increased usage.
If you feel your meter is not registering accurately, you may request to have it tested. OEC will test the meter within 20 days of receiving a written request from the member and provide a written report of the results. There will be a $50 charge for OEC coming out to test the meter, which will be refunded if the meter is found to be in error. Please call OEC at (405) 321-2024 for more information.
